She doesn't mind holding herself accountable.

Kevin Hart was hit with ample critiques following the resurfacing of homophobic tweets, leading to his loss of the Oscars hosting gig. Nick Cannon did some digging to bring similar tweets to light and shared content posted by white female comedian, asking how these individuals' words garnered negative consequences if any.

Sarah Silverman acknowledged Cannon's efforts, although she employed minimal effort to do so since most of her social media presence is focused on tearing down the Trump administration. She still took the time to retweet an article that dealt with the matter. At first glance, her gesture might appear to signify her siding with Cannon but the article in question includes some of Silverman's comments about her past tendency for offensive punchlines.

The article quotes her from a piece in The Guardian, “All I can do is learn from it, be changed forever by it, and do what I can to make it right going forward.”

“Certainly stuff that I did 10 or 15 years ago, I cringe at now,” she continued, adding that she now sees the jokes “very differently.”

The article also highlights how she addressed the matter with Variety published in November.

“I feel like unless you can admit to those things, you can’t be changed by them and you can’t even forgive yourself for them,” she shared.
