Earlier this month, Rich The Kid claimed to have signed a $10 million deal with Adidas. In the article, we joked that a Rich The Kid signature sneaker could be on the horizon. However, we may have gotten a little ahead of ourselves as Rich took it seriously, using his amazing business skills to actually land a signature shoe with the major company. While RTK may be an underrated businessman, his skills in the boardroom are likely flawless as he's crafted a label from the ground up, built several artist's careers and now, he can consider himself a fashion designer with Adidas.
XXL reported that the recording artist is teaming up with Adidas Soccer to unveil the Adidas Made For MLS shoe, inspired by his city of Atlanta. The sneaker is the most recent in Adidas' AM4 campaign, made in collaboration with Travis Love and Atlanta United's Darlington Nagbe. This iteration of the "Made For" footwear comes in a red and black colorway, combining technological innovation and style to create a unique sneaker.
One of the most unique elements behind the design is that the shoe will feature an NFC chip containing access to a Spotify playlist curated by Rich The Kid. So, not only do you get to rock an RTK-designed sneaker, you also get to go behind-the-scenes on what he's listening to. Staying true to the inspiration behind the sneaker, Rich's playlist will feature 21 songs tributing Atlanta's vast cultural ties.
The Adidas AM4MLS will exclusively release at Wish Atlanta on July 28. They will be made available online the following day.
