Amy Adams opened up to Nicole Kidman about her future as an actress during "Actors on Actors."

Amy Adams signed on to play the role of DC Comics favorite Lois Lane, the intellectual journalist who captured Superman's heart back in 2011 for  Zack Snyder-directed reboot of Superman. In an official statement released by Warner Bros, Snyder revealed that he believed Adams was the ideal actress for a number of reasons. "Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," he said. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful."

The decision to cast Adams proved to be immensely beneficial, and to this day, Adams is largely considered as one of the best actresses to have ever portrayed the character. In a recent segment of Variety's Actors on Actors, however, Adams revealed that her tome as Lois Lane is coming to an end  “I think I’m out of the DC Universe now,” Amy told fellow actress Nicole Kidman. “I think they’re revamping that. I don’t know the details,” she added fueling speculation that Warner Bros plans to take the franchise in a new creative direction.  “There’s a recognition that some parts of the previous movies didn’t work,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter. “Both statements back up WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey, who previously said that some of the company’s franchises 'can do better.'"
