Virgil Abloh is no longer a backstage player, now that he is a budding star in high fashion, and a viable name drop in hip hop's most sought after beef. His Off-White X Nike The Ten collection was one of the most celebrated collaborations between fashion house and designer, in recent memory. The sneaker edits, as they were, are still being talked about today. So much that even Nike considered producing a retrospective, a mere 8 months after its release.
In conjunction with the Off-White X Air Jordan 1 UNC release, Nike us putting out a digital book giving fans an detailed look at Virgil Abloh's creative process, as well as his material finish. The 258-page archive highlights the "Ghosting" and "Revealing" sets of sneakers, as well as his inspiration for each pair. All images were taken at the creative capsule in Portland, Oregon and at the high fashion launches in Milan, London and New York.
The entire textbook is available here, and is even downloadable in PDF format. The Off-White X Air Jordan 1 UNC release is slated for June 9 in the United States, while several other countries list the drop date in late May. The UNC release is exclusively available in Tar Heel colors and retails for $190, tax not included.
