LL Cool J's took to the ring in his iconic "Mama Said Knock You Out" video, and now he'll be lending his lady-charming voice to the narration of one of the upcoming documentary on boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
The doc, simply titled "Mayweather", will give a look into the life story of the fighter. Producer Ross Greenburg describes the project as "an honest portrayal of the controversial and charismatic best pound-for-pound boxer in the world.”
The film will air on CBS one week prior to Mayweather's match with Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero.
LL will be contributing new music to the doc as well, premiering his new track "We're The Greatest", which features guitar work from Eddie Van Halen, and will appear on his upcoming album Authentic, which drops the following week.
J recently gave a bit of insight into what to expect from the track. “It’s not necessarily about me and Eddie [Van Halen], per se. It’s about people that kinda get tossed aside, forgotten about, kicked down, and then they make a comeback in life and they regain that ground that they had lost, and then some.”
"Mayweather" premieres April 27 at 8pm EST on CBS, and Authentic drops April 30th.
