New year's eve for Tiffany Haddish was, like it was for many others, not as good as expected. Her stand-up show in Miami ended up with her being booed and inviting fans onto the stage to drink with her and tell jokes. Although some might say she proved Kat Williams right, that she can't go on a stage and tells jokes for an hour-and-a-half, there are still those ready to come to Haddish's defence.
Rickey Smiley, on his The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, explained how, no matter how goof a comedian you are, everyone bombs every once in a while. He got more specific and defended Haddish on the basis of venue, saying that “the James L. Knight Center is very hard to perform in if you’re a comedian.” He continued: “it’s not set up for comedy, it’s really set up for bands and rappers. It’s just not intimate, you’re away from the audience. I would have hosted the show so the pressure wouldn’t be on you to have a headlining gig.” When you watch the video of Haddish the venue does look a little strange, with audience members standing up and walking around the room.
