The MMG crew are in full promo-mode as the release of their collaborative effort Self Made Vol. 3 arrives next week. This included hitting up the Hot 97 AM Show as well as Power 105's Breakfast Club. On The Breakfast Club Rick Ross, Stalley, Omarion, Rockie Fresh and a sleepy Meek Mill discuss all their upcoming projects, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z and more.
The Kendrick Lamar "Control" talk transpired pretty quickly, and although Meek has released a response to K. Dot and they've recently had some back-and-forth, Meek says he wasn't offended.
"I ain't offended at Kendrick and I don't think nobody should be offended at him, he rappin', he having fun, only people that's gunna be really offended is bitter. I'm just rapping and having fun at the same time. I know him as a person he a cool guy," Meek Mill said on the situation.
MMG Bawse, Rick Ross, added,"Kendrick hustlin' man. Kendrick the homie. Kendrick hustlin'."
Stalley discussed his recent project Honest Cowboy which has been nominated for Mixtape Of The Year by the BET Hip-Hop Awards, revealing that the nomination pushed his label to get him to release an EP on the same day as Self Made 3.
"It was something that happened 'cause the mixtape did so well," Stalley revealed. "The label was just loving the response so they was like we should just put something together, EP, put some new records on it, put it out the same day as Self Made 3. Just get that momentum going and put my face up on iTunes."
We also received an update on Meek Mill's mixtape, which follows the release of Self Made 3. It was first supposed to drop September 20th, but now the date is September 29th, Ross said. "The 29th of September. Dreamchasers 3 will be out," the crew confirmed.
More project updates followed through out the interview, with Rozay saying to expect Stalley, Omarion and Gunplay albums at the top of the year. He also says all the legal issues with Gunplay have been cleared up, thus budgets for him were opened up.
Rozay continued to carry the conversation, discussing Jay Z. The MMG rapper was one of the lucky few to be featured on Magna Carta Holy Grail, and he spoke on his relationship with Hova. He mentioned that you can expect the Roc Nation rapper to be on Mastermind.
"That's my big homie, that's who signed me to Def Jam Records," Ross said of Jay. "He respect the moves I'm making, he gives it to me."
The rapper added, "Most definitely on my new album Mastermind you gon' hear Hov...There's another record I got that you already heard that Hov did a verse for."
Sleepy Meek Mill seemed to wake up the more the discussion turned to street rappers and who the best is on the East Coast. Meek gave props to Yo Gotti, saying, "I think Yo Gotti one of the best street rappers in the world but the way he come the game ain't ready to get behind that."
