The Lonely Island are coming back with new music.

Even if their music wasn't meant to be taken seriously, it's hard to overstate the impact and popularity that The Lonely Island had on popular culture, and on the rap game as well. If there was no Lonely Island, then we never would have gotten Lil Dicky

Despite having dropped mega-hits like "I Just Had Sex" and "I'm On A Boat," the trio, consisting of actor/comedians Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, have been quiet since the release of their 2016 film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Now it appears that they're gearing up to make their resurgence into the cultural zeitgeist with some new music.

According to Spin, the group performed a show in Pasadena, CA last night, which they referred to as their "first-ever warm up show for our first-ever concert," referring to their headline spot at the Clusterfest comedy festival in June. During their "warm up show," however, they took the time to premiere a brand new track, which appears to be heavily inspired by Oakland A's outfielder Jose Canseco.

The track, which came complete with comedic backing visuals, seems to be a braggadocious rap about feeling like Canseco, who was a premier power hitter in the MLB, as well as a two-time World Series champion.

Chances are this new track will be the newest single off whatever new project they're gearing up to announce. Are you excited for new Lonely Island music, or should they have stayed on their boat? Check out footage of their performance below.
