Kanye West will be hitting the stage for the Saturday Night Live season premiere.

It's been a busy year for Kanye West. Amid all the controversy surrounding his name, Kanye West produced five albums and released two of his own within the span of five weeks. Now, the rapper will be helping Saturday Night Live kick off their 44th season.

Saturday Night Live announced that Kanye West is set to perform as the musical guest on their season premiere. Kanye West is no stranger to the Saturday Night Live set. The rapper has previously performed on the show seven times throughout his career. "BlacKkKlansman" and "Star Wars" actor Adam Driver will hold down hosting duties for the season premiere which is set to launch on September 29th.

The last time Kanye West performed on Saturday Night Live was in 2016 following the release of The Life Of Pablo. Unfortunately, the performance didn't go as smoothly as planned. The rapper had a "meltdown" backstage at the show and audio footage of it leaked. The rapper was upset after his stage design was changed. However, it turned out that Kanye didn't have any problems with the SNL crew or cast and was seen hugging Lorne Michaels right before he left the set.

Aside from Kanye West's appearance on SNL, the rapper recently received his seventeenth top 10 single on the Hot 100 after his Lil Pump collaboration, "I Love It" debuted at number 6 on the chart. Additionally, it's currently the chart leader on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart.
