Logan Browning arrives at An Evening With 'Dear White People' at The Paley Center for Media on June 5, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.
Samantha White will return to Netflix for season three.

Dear White People started out as a movie starring Tessa Thompson, but was scooped up by Netflix as an original series in 2017. If you haven't watched the show, I highly suggest checking it out. The name is off-putting to some who believe the blatant mention of race is just a sensationalized title meant to stoke the fires of racial tension in America. Dear White People is actually the opposite. Logan Browning stars as Samantha White, a student at a predominantly white college. A mirror is held up to Black culture and White culture alike, and the strengths and weaknesses of each race are put on full display in this edgy drama. Not only does the show tackle race, it also shines a light on homosexuality, toxic masculinity, and feminism, all without coming off as preachy or trite.

The second season of Dear White People ended with a cliffhanger, so it was expected that the show would return for a third season. On Thursday, Netflix released a clip of Giancarlo Esposito, who plays both the narrator of Dear White People and also a member of the show’s fictional secret society The Order of X. In the short clip, Esposito steps into his on-screen roll and delivers a message to fans of the series. "Now that I have your attention, this message is being delivered to you on behalf of The Order of X,” Esposito states. “I come with a message of truth. To clarify the false information that’s being disseminated around the world today. 'Dear White People' will be returning to Netflix for a season 3. We’ll meet you there.” The third season of the critically acclaimed Netflix series is set to debut next year.
