Elon Musk has been on a steady fall this past year. He has been worshipped for his mind, but it seems like his most coveted asset has been playing tricks on him lately. After many objectively bad decision and some questionable actions, the billionaire is now facing legal trouble for an incident that occurred months ago. He is being sued for defamation.
A Brittish caver named Vernon Unsworth has filed a suit against the entrepreneur for calling him a "pedo." The insult was thrown to his millions of followers on Twitter out of indignance. Musk was upset that Unsworth called him out for interfering in a rescue effort in Thailand.
The Tesla CEO had built some kind of submarine to aid the retrieval of a soccer team caught in a cave. Unsworth mocked the technology and said that its uselessness was obvious and that Elon Musk "can stick his submarine where it hurts." Musk fired back with the "pedo" comment: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it."
His rebuttal might cost him more than he bargained for. Then again, he virtually brought this legal matter onto himself. A month or so after he blasted Unsworth, he returned to Twitter to ask: "You don't think it's strange he hasn't sued me?" The exact amount requested in compensation for the "damages" have yet to be revealed.
