This year, the HNHH Freestyle Sessions have been extremely impressive. We've listened and we have a whole bunch of fire on deck, with lyricists coming through to spit some realness over some of the hottest beats. Today, we're showcasing Rod Wave, a rising Florida rapper, through his freestyle session.
The young artist is coming through with some sincere bars, addressing the government, his home state, and how things could be improved. He flows nicely over a Dmac beat for one of the better freestyle sessions this year. While it can be hit-or-miss whenever an artist hops on the mic without a reference, Rod Wave does it flawlessly. He gets warmed up before diving straight into a few topics he holds close to his heart, using no gimmicks, just realness.
What do you think?
Quotable Lyrics:
Dear Mr. President
Heard how your election went
But I got a tip or two, quit worrying about the Mexicans
What about my neighborhood?
What about the veterans?
