Elon Musk's presence on this planet has been beneficial for millions. He has brought the world an easy payment system with PayPal, the ability for civilians to go to space with SpaceX, intelligent electric cars with Tesla, and clean energy with SolarCity. Now, Musk will be blessing consumers with a new brand of tequila.
As reported by TMZ, Musk has filed a trademark for Teslaquila. The billionaire's venture into the liquor industry was first a joke. On April Fool's Day, Musk tweeted, "Despite intense efforts to raise money, including a last-ditch mass sale of Easter Eggs, we are sad to report that Tesla has gone completely and totally bankrupt." He continued on to reference his tequila, making it seem like he drowned his sorrows in the liquor. "Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by 'Teslaquilla' bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks."
The venture turned out to be more than just a joke, since filing a trademark with the government is no game. The filing is done in good faith with the federal government, with legal consequences for pranksters. Musk also took to Twitter to share a picture of his Teslaquila bottle.
