New York's own Wiki has been quietly putting in work, having recently dropped "Elixir" in December 2018. Now, the rapper has set his sights on the path ahead. The first stop is a new single called "Cheat Code," which picks up where his latest effort left off. Speaking with The Fader, Wiki explained his motivation in crafting the track. "The song is sort of about the question of if there's a cheat code to life. Ultimately there isn't," he muses. "I talk about cheat codes specifically and drop some references, but I also talk about coming up and getting around in New York. It’s a joint. It bangs.”
The Tony Seltzer-produced single indeed bangs, and Wiki wastes little time in setting the tone. "Stay grounded, stay poundin', your homies that stay round you, stay rowdy," he raps. "Pray that's how you was raised, stay bout it, but stay open to the age, the days countin'." While it's unclear whether "Cheat Code" is part of a greater whole, it's a promising sign that Wiki's follow-up to No Mountains In Manhattan is on the way.
Quotable Lyrics
Stay grounded, stay poundin'
Your homies that stay round you stay rowdy
Pray that's how you was raised, stay bout it
But stay open to the age, the days countin'
