Pusha-T lives and breathes rap music. He's been at it for years and that's the one thing you should take away from his story. Push cares so much about the future of hip-hop and he's excited to help grow musical acts to get them where they need to be, which was evidenced through his work with 1800 Tequila. He's still at the top of his game though, reaching a peak with Daytona and hopefully staying at this level for a few more years. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Pusha-T noted that he's more than happy with the competition he's facing at the Grammy awards in the "Best Rap Album" category.
When asked if it was a bittersweet moment to be nominated next to the late Mac Miller, Push revealed that he believes Mac deserves to be there with the rest of them. He said, "I thought it was good. I didn’t look Mac as a charity case, at all, because I thought Mac’s album was fire and I felt like people did. And people thought it was fire. I was sort of happy, like 'Damn, to me this is the best of the best in a lot of different ways.' I listen to every last one of those albums, every last one of ‘em."
Pusha-T is up against Travis Scott, Cardi B, Mac Miller, and Nipsey Hussle in the category for Best Rap Album. Who do you think will win?
