Last week was busy in terms of album releases. Artists like Tee Grizzley, Lil Durk, IDK, and more released projects but the two most high-profile hip-hop releases of the week went to Trippie Redd and Lil Peep. People weren't too sure what to expect with Trippie's newest effort as he let down a few of his fans after Life's A Trip. When it was revealed that he made A Love Letter To You 3 during a two-week studio period, people began to feel worried. However, he actually delivered a pretty solid effort. Some are even calling it Trippie's best work to date! Lil Peep's first posthumous album was also bound to generate a lot of buzz as the artist is very much missed a year following his death. The first-week sales projections reflect people's excitement for both projects as they come out on top in the hip-hop realm.
Hits Daily Double is usually pretty spot on with this sort of information and they're reporting that Trippie Redd and Lil Peep will have the third and fourth highest-moving debuts of the week, respectively. Kane Brown, a country singer, and Imagine Dragons will take the two lead spots. For Trippie Redd, ALLTY3 is currently on pace to move anywhere from 50K to 60K equivalent album units in its debut. Lil Peep's COWYS2 is anticipated to land somewhere between 32K and 37K album units.
