2018 was the year that Lil Wayne was finally liberated from his Cash Money contract and delivered his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter V. Regardless of whether you enjoyed the album or not, Tha Carter V earned itself a space in hip-hop history solely based on its enigmatic release. As Weezy continues to push the album into the new year, it has been announced that he'll be performing at the College Football Playoffs Haltime Show alongside Imagine Dragons.
Lil Wayne will be joining Imagine Dragons during the College Football Playoffs Halftime show. The two are set to perform together on Jan. 7th. Imagine Dragons will be performing a few cuts off of their latest album Origins before Weezy joins them on stage for a "special collaboration." The two previously collaborated in 2016 alongside Wiz Khalifa for the Suicide Squad soundtrack on the song "Sucker For Pain" ft. Logic, Ty Dolla $ign and X Ambassadors. Last year, Kendrick Lamar -- who also performed with Imagine Dragons at the GRAMMYS and "SNL" -- took the stage during the College Football Playoffs Halftime Performance.
Aside from his upcoming performance, Wayne just wrapped up his "I Ain't Shit Without You" tour. The short tour consisted of four dates -- voted for by fans -- at intimate venues in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Hopefully, Wayne will actually be hitting the road this year on a nationwide tour in support of his latest album.
