There's no denying that Avengers: Infinity War stands among the most ambitious cinematic undertaking in recent memory. The Marvel Cinematic Universe reached a thrilling, yet ultimately devastating conclusion, as Thanos annihilated the Earth's population by fifty-percent. Of course, such a drastic move took a toll on the surviving heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man.
Today, Marvel has shared the first official trailer to Avengers: Endgame. It's only fitting that the cycle end where it began - with Tony Stark. From the look of it, Iron Man seems to be in dire-straits, drifting through space with a waning supply of food, water, and oxygen. On Earth, it doesn't appear to be any better. A massive Thanos statue stands a reminder of life come and gone. The remaining heroes seem to have ramped up the angst factor, with Cap, Widow, and Thor sporting melancholic new looks. Fans will be pleased to know that Hawkeye survived the snap, and looks to be doling out ass-beatings accordingly. Luckily, comedic-relief isn't entirely off the table, thanks to a welcome appearance from Paul Rudd's Ant Man.
While vague, the trailer certainly gets a few key points across. The stakes are raised, and not everyone is going to make it out alive. Check out the first look at Avengers: Endgame below, with the movie dropping on April 26th.
