Talk of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones (and a possible prequel) has been circling the web for some time now and after the premiere date was revealed last month, fans now have a teaser to hold themselves over until the full season or trailer arrives.
The short and sweet clip below shows the heightened battle that is set to come between ice and fire. Both elements are seen existing in its natural habitat, taking over certain grounds and things get escalated when fire meets ice where the teaser ultimately ends.
“It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death,” co-executive producer Bryan Cogman told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head.”
“It’s relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot,” Kit Harington said when detailing the intensive shooting days. “They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options.”
There's clearly a lot to look forward to for the eighth season that arrives April 2019.
