It's been a minute since we've heard from Gucci Mane. Yet absence has only made the heart grow fonder, as it were. The legendary rapper has been hard at work perfecting his latest drop, Evil Genius, with intentions of crafting an undeniable classic. Now, the fruits of Guwop's labor have arrived, a reflection of his place in the game. Earlier today, we heard Gucci make a compelling case for himself as the "best rapper alive." The passion in his voice speaks volumes; paired with the uncharacteristically lengthy rollout period, it seems entirely likely that Gucci has really poured a lot into this one.
Now, LaFlare's new studio album has hit all major streaming services. The project features many of his longtime collaborators as well as several new faces: look for appearances from Migos, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, Kodak Black, and more. Speaking with Zane Lowe, Guwop teased perfection from both Metro Boomin and Southside, with whom he previously collaborated on last year's El Gato The Human Glacier. Like that project, Evil Genius depicts Gucci in a calculated light, seemingly combining the strengths of his 2017 trifecta into one well-rounded and cohesive effort. Is Evil Genius the quintessential Gucci Mane project? Sound off below.
