Well here it is. DJ Akademiks, aka Lil AK, stays true to his word and releases his new Tekashi 6ix9ine-assisted song today called “Lanes.” AK says 6ix9ine recorded the feature months ago prior to being incarcerated and that he did it for him as a gift for his birthday.

“It was my birthday, I was in the studio, 6ix9ine came by to wish me happy birthday. He said, 'Yo, I ain’t got shit for you, nigga, but let’s do a song. Okay?' Now, we did a song, of course y'all know me, we ain’t gon' be on the song screaming TR3YWAY or shot shot shot shot shots nigga, or anything talking about boom-boom-boom, of course not, right? So we basically made a little dance record. It’s like a 1-2 step type of pop type of dance record, and uh, he did that record for me back then. I was trying to think when I should put it out, I ain’t wanna put it out when he was about to drop a record; anyway, low and behold he gets locked up. Now I decided I’m going to release the record, and I actually called the record “LANES,” Ak said on his twitch yesterday.

Take a listen to the melodic dance record and sound off in the comments. Record available on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

Baby, I don't really wanna fight right now
I just really want you on top right now
Why you really wanna run your mouth right now?
I just really want top right now, yeah
So move it closer (Move it closer)
Let me control 'ya (Let me control 'ya)
Just let me hold 'ya (Just let me hold 'ya)
'Till this beat is over ('Til the beat is over)
