The New Orleans Pelicans have been having a rough go of things this season. While the team made the playoffs last year and even won a round, this year hasn't been what they expected. Right now the Pelicans sit in 14th place in the Western Conference and have lost seven of their last nine games. Most recently, the Pelicans lost to the Brooklyn nets 126-121 on Wednesday night. The loss sparked superstar Anthony Davis to comment on the team's struggles.
"We're a better team than our record shows. Everyone is frustrated. Players, coaches, front office. We've just got to do better," Davis told ESPN. "We wasn't playing no defense. The whole first half, they did whatever they wanted. They didn't feel us on the defensive end. We wasn't physical, wasn't talking. They got a lot of layups, a lot of open 3s. They shot the ball extremely well in the first half due to our lazy defense."

Davis finished the game with 34 points and even a career-high 26 rebounds but as he pointed out, the team's defense proved to be their downfall.
Despite the struggles, Davis believes the team will bounce back saying "We know what we did last year. We know how good of a team we are this year."
The Pelicans will try to turn things around when they play the last place Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
