The San Francisco 49ers will face the Green Bay Packers on Monday night in the lone matchup that day. To mark the occasion, the 49ers released a photo gallery celebrating the team's history against Wisconsin rivals. Numerous players and team builders were part of the photo presentation, save for one famous 49er, the ever-controversial Colin Kaepernick who took regular snaps for the team between 2012 and 2016.
Soon after the release of the photo gallery, social media regulars were quick to point out Kaepernick's omission, leading to an irrational blame game within the organization. They have since offered their account of the misunderstanding in the following statement:
"Unfortunately there were a handful of obvious misses in this gallery posted by our website team and we appreciate them being brought to our attention, the 49ers organization has tremendous respect and gratitude for the contributions Colin made to our team over the years."
The 49ers who previously supported their quarterback in his decision to kneel while he was contracted member of the squad, are pleading ignorance over his omission. When asked to comment on the 49ers QB shuffle, coach Kyle Shanahan refuted claims Jimmy Garoppolo took usurped Kaepernick because he was a better fit in the offense, nothing else.
