Domestic violence charges against Foster have reportedly been dropped.

Domestic violence charges against NFL linebacker Reuben Foster have reportedly been dropped, according to a report by TMZ.

Foster's attorney, Eddie Suarez, tells the outlet he believes the case was dropped after Foster's ex-girlfriend, Elissa Ennis, changed her story about a previous domestic violence incident multiple times.

Foster, who was arrested on November 24 for allegedly assaulting Ennis at the 49ers' team hotel in Tampa Bay, was released by the team and later claimed by the Washington Redskins. That said, the 24-year old linebacker is still on the commissioner's exempt list and remains ineligible to play.

Foster had been charged with three felonies earlier this year, including domestic violence, after Ennis told police he brutally assaulted her in California. However, she later recanted her story.

As seen in the December GMA interview embedded below, Ennis says she was lying when she recanted her claims of domestic abuse because she loved Foster.

Additionally, she claimed the 49ers tried to discredit her when police arrived at the hotel in Tampa back in November.

"Because I loved him, and love will have you doin' things that's not in your best interests," Ennis said when asked why she recanted. "I did what I had to do for the person I love. I thought that he would change."

"Even when I called the police, the 49ers came up there," Ennis said (H/T ESPN). "... I have pictures of the 49ers coming up there trying to talk to the police telling them I'm the same ex-girlfriend that set up there and lied."
