Russell Westbrook's shooting woes continued Wednesday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but that didn't stop him from posting a triple-double and helping the Oklahoma City Thunder secure a 107-100 win against the LeBron-less Los Angeles Lakers.
He also added one of the highlights of the night, at the expense of Lance Stephenson. Following Paul George's dazzling and-1 against Stephenson in the second quarter, Russ broke out Born Ready's patented air guitar celebration as the Lakers' swingman shot daggers through him.
Westbrook, who debuted his new Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 sneaker last night, finished with 14 points on 3-of-20 shooting to go along with 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Paul George, who was booed throughout the game, led all scorers with 37 points.
"I was prepared for it," George said. "I'm the bad guy, and that's fine."
"I'm not the only guy from SoCal, the LA area, that didn't decide to play here," George said. "You can go down the whole list of guys from this beautiful city. It is what it is. The decision has been made. No ill will."
The Thunder have now climbed to third in the Western Conference with a 24-13 record, winning seven of their last 10 contests. Westbrook, George and co. will continue their West Coast trip on Friday night with a matchup against the Trail Blazers (22-16) in Portland.
