Dora, The Explorer, had 172 TV episodes from the year 2000 through 2014 and is now moving onto the adventure of a feature film production. Director James Bobin is taking the project on concurrently with production by Kristin Burr.
Paramount Players, Nickelodeon, and Walden Media are set to release the live action movie based upon the infamous television series on August 2nd 2019, and actress Eva Longoria is going to play Dora’s mother.
The feature is going to follow Dora, Boots, and Diego through their most dangerous adventure yet: attempting to survive high school while rescuing her parents and discovering a mysterious lost Inca civilization.
The movie is currently in production in Australia with Isabela Moner starring as Dora, and as we've learned today, Longoria as Elena, Dora's mom. Moner said that she is honored to be able to bring Dora to life because she gets to continue in the footsteps of the Latina role model that she had throughout her own childhood. Other cast members are listed as Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza, and Temuera Morrison.
