About seven years ago Keri Hilson was a popular R&B artist putting out confidence boosting tracks like "Pretty Girl Rock." She dropped off the map and only a few months ago she admitted that it was due to depression. "When 'Pretty Girl Rock' was at the top of the charts… I was bearing the weight of some personal and professional mistakes, and they just weighed so so so heavy on my spirit, and I was just not myself," she said. "It all just kind of spiraled for me, and became something I had never been through, I had never recognized myself as a person who can’t pick themselves back up. I was literally onstage crying."
After her speech, she revealed that she was happily "single by choice" and was using her solo time to focus on being "the best person she can be." It looks as though she's still living her best life as she just posted some photos of her lounging beachside in her natural state, lookin' like a sun-kissed Queen. "Snapchat chronicles. Counting down the days...," she captioned the photos.
Only time will tell is Keri comes through with a new track.
