Chris Brown is getting ready to unleash the first single from his new album X tomorrow. The ypcoming track which is titled "Fine China" was co-written by singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger, who broke down the songwriting process of the cut.
“When you hear that, it’s gonna be something that Chris hasn’t done yet,” said Eric, who’s written for Chris in the past. “He really, really went back to the days of Sam Cooke, but we were still able to keep it 2013 at the same time.”
Bellinger cited Justin Timberlake as opening the doors for the classic R&B sound Chris will be channelling on his next effort. “Justin Timberlake really opened the lane for real music and we’re just gonna go running through it,” added Bellinger “For so long, people have been deprived of that kind of sound.”
Bellinger also served as a songwriter for “Add Me In,” a track produced by Danja, who worked extensively on Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds but was notably absent from the credits of The 20/20 Experience. Eric says the track strongly references MJ, an influence Chris hinted at on "Nobody's Business", his collaboration with Rihanna from last year. “I studied Michael so much and never do I get to really embody that. On this project, they were like, ‘Just do Michael.’”
The songwriter had kind words for Brown and his abilities as a performer. “He was born to do this. He’s our new Michael Jackson. They can say whatever they want about him, but no one can knock his talent.”
