Fortnite is arguably the most popular video game on the planet. The battle royale styled game has captivated players all over the world, and is the number one game on consoles and mobile devices. Although the game is free, developer Epic Games is raking in the cash from in-game purchases. In fact, Epic Games earned  $296 million in April alone. Now that's a come-up.

The developer has announced a new update that will allow gamers to practice in squads of four. Entitled the "Playground," the new mode allows gamers to explore the map while in a much safer and less hectic environment than an actual match. "Battle and build to your heart's content with an extended period of time to roam around the map as well as increased resource generation," reads the statement from Epic Games. "All treasure chests and ammo crates will be spawned, try droppin’ in different spots and scope out the loot. Friendly fire is on so you can scrimmage with your squad (up to 4 friends per match), but fear not you’ll respawn immediately."

Although the update does not have a release date yet, it is speculated to be included in the next patch which should come next month.
