Foster's ex says she was lying when she recanted her claims of domestic abuse.

Elissa Ennis, the ex-girlfriend of Reuben Foster, who was recently claimed by the Washington Redskins following a domestic violence arrest, sat down for an interview with "Good Morning America" today where she recalled a series of abusive events. This included the most recent incident at a Tampa hotel in November, which resulted in Foster being released by the San Francisco 49ers.

Foster had been charged with three felonies earlier this year, including domestic violence, after Ennis told police he brutally assaulted her in California. However, she later recanted her story.

Today, as seen in the GMA interview below, Ennis says she was lying when she recanted her claims of domestic abuse because she loved Foster. Additionally, she claims the 49ers tried to discredit her when police arrived at the hotel in Tampa last month.

"Because I loved him, and love will have you doin' things that's not in your best interests," Ennis said when asked why she recanted. "I did what I had to do for the person I love. I thought that he would change."

"Even when I called the police, the 49ers came up there," Ennis said (H/T ESPN). "... I have pictures of the 49ers coming up there trying to talk to the police telling them I'm the same ex-girlfriend that set up there and lied."

Ennis testified in May that she was angry when Foster tried to break up with her and made up the domestic violence claims as part of a "money scheme" and as a way to "fuck up his career." Additionally, Ennis admitted at the time that she previously served jail time in 2011 for falsely accusing another ex-boyfriend of domestic violence after he broke up with her.

"I wanted to sue Reuben. It was a money scheme. It was all about money. I wanted to get him," Ennis testified under oath, according to 49ers reporter Cam Inman.

"I was threatening Reuben that I was going to fuck up his career," Ennis said.

"I told him I’m about to fuck yo shit up, make sure you don’t have a job tomorrow..." Ennis said. "I really wanted to kill him. I was so hurt."

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Foster is on the commissioner's exempt list and currently ineligible to play.

Of the Redskins signing Foster immediately after his release, Ennis tells GMA, "When he got signed, I was like, I can't believe somebody picked him up. I just couldn't believe somebody picked him up in less than how many hours? I was shocked."
