Just days after officially agreeing to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, Dez Bryant reportedly suffered an injury that the team fears may be a torn achilles.
According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, Bryant was helped off the field at Saints practice on Friday and is undergoing an MRI to determine the extent of his injury. NFL Network's Jane Slater reports, "Sources informed me Dez Bryant was coming out of a routine route when it happened."
The 30-year old receiver has not played at all this season and was expected to take some time to get familiar with the playbook before making his Saints debut next weekend in Week 11 when they host the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Saints, winners of seven straight and sitting atop the NFC South with a 7-1 record, will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 10. New Orleans currently ranks second in the NFL in points per game with 34.9, trailing only the Kansas City Chiefs who are averaging 36.3.
As of now, it looks like they won't be adding the former Pro Bowler to their high-powered offense after all.
