Comedy sometimes presents a line that is difficult to navigate in terms of when things are considered "too far." However, the leaked audio and all of the allegations that have been made against Louis C.K. can most certainly be considered as crossing that point. C.K. recently made his return to stand-up after he was disgraced when accusations were made public of the man masturbating in front of unsuspecting women. Last week, he made some pretty terrible comments about the Parkland school shooting survivors and people were rightfully upset. Actress Ellen Barkin made some brash comments about the comedian on her own social network, hoping that Louis C.K. one day experiences all the things he's joked about in recent times.
According to Daily Wire, Barkin tweeted before deleting, "I hope louis ck gets raped." She then expanded on her wishes, adding, "and shot at." Obviously, her tweets generated a mixed response. Fans were irate that she would stoop to that level, hoping that somebody would experience such a tragedy in their lives. Others encouraged her for supporting the Parkland survivors and women who have been victims of sexual assault. She kept some messages up, telling her fans that she believes the comedian is "a sociopath and a serial predator."
What do you think of her comments? Are they warranted or did she, herself, go too far?
