Netflix doesn't want you to be in the hospital over the "Bird Box" challenge."

Sandra Bullocks' new film Bird Box was one of the most talked about new films over the holiday season. While it's received polarizing reception, it did spark hilarious memes as well as a viral Bird Box challenge which caught momentum over social media. However, much like other viral challenges like Tide Pod challenge and the "In My Feelings" challenge, Netflix has issued a warning to fans, reminding them it's a new year and no one wants you in the hospital because of an Internet meme.

Netflix doesn't want any of their viewers to end up in the hospital this year, especially over a meme. The streaming service told fans on Twitter to not to hurt themselves by trying the Bird Box challenge.

"Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE," Netflix tweeted. "We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes."

The challenge has been all over Twitter and Instagram since the film's release. The challenge consists of people walking around blindfolded. One man filmed himself driving with his hat over his eyes with the caption, #BirdBoxChallenge.

The film's popularity shouldn't be that surprising. The film garnered 45M streams within its first week, marking the best first week for any Netflix film ever.
