Captain Marvel will be landing in theaters next Spring, but Avengers fans are eager for any drop of information they can attain regarding the hero. According to Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige, Captain Marvel will be the most powerful hero we've seen in the MCU, and her powers will be crucial in defeating Thanos. In the comics, Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel after her DNA is spliced with that of an alien hero. The movie will follow the same origin, but it will be a prequel to all the other Marvel movies. Placed in the 90's, Captain Marvel will feature a young Nicky Fury and Phil Coulson.

Clark Gregg, who plays Coulson, sat down with EW to speak about the upcoming film. Coulson once told Tony Stark that this wasn't his "first rodeo" while battling aliens to save New York. “This might be the rodeo,” Gregg tells EW, hinting that Captain Marvel is the first time Coulson comes into contact with aliens. “It’s one of them, for sure.”

“There was something really special about going back to the early days when he was just kind of coming up the ranks,” he continued. “I had to take innocence workshops and go back to when he was a little less crusty and jaded!” Gregg also revealed how his relationship with Nicky Fury begins. “He’s a relatively new S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who is obsessed with MC Hammer and dresses just like him, and it makes Director Fury so angry,” Gregg joked. “The genie pants don’t really go with the Armani." He claims Fury and Coulson have a “meet-cute moment,” although he added, “I don’t think Sam will put it that way.”
