Once upon a time Idris Elba and K. Michelle dated for about eight or nine months but now Michelle doesn't consider him a "true friend" because he never had her back after scrutiny she went through post-breakup. The "Love Em All" singer recently chatted with TV One’s UNCENSORED and told the crew that people questioned how Idris would date a "ghetto" girl. Once the relationship was over a lot of people thought she lied about them being together.
“I felt like he didn’t defend me,” Michelle said, via Bossip. “I feel like when people were calling me a liar, again, about my relationship…I’ve been sitting here with this man for like nine months. I just could not believe we were spending so much time together [and] he just did not come out and say; ‘Stop attacking her!' Or he didn’t come out and say, ‘This is my friend, I know about this album. I know all of this.’"
Michelle's final words about her ex are simply wishing him best, but "he showed [me] that he wasn’t my friend and this Rico Suave great guy is human.”
Idris is now dating Sabrina Dhowre and after previously cloaming he would never get married again, he and Sabrina are engaged and expected to wed soon.
