Kid Cudi has had a storied career, releasing some of his better work near the beginning of his career. While his experimentation may not have worked in some people's eyes with his more rock-oriented work, he seems to be back in form on his Kids See Ghosts collaboration with Kanye West. Near the beginning of his rise to fame, DJs and producers were using his songs to create essential remixes for the club or producing entirely new electronic bangers for Cudi to jump on. The Crookers version of "Day 'N' Nite" was almost more popular than the original version, actually. If you've been to an electronic music festival in the last ten years, you've surely heard his hit with David Guetta, "Memories," blaring out of the speakers. If you're a fan, you may be excited to learn that the two have another banger in the vault, or so says Guetta.
DJ David Guetta is currently doing promotion for his new album and he's still getting questions about his work with Kid Cudi. Joe did an exclusive interview with Guetta where he spoke about an unreleased song that he and Cudi made around the same time and we're seriously hoping we get to hear it some day. He said, "I still have it, it's good. It's actually really good. The other one is a performance [record]. It's crazy because now I'm thinking with everything that's going on right now in Hip Hop that record is so current right now because it's really like a punk rock record."
He continued by explaining that the track would need some extra work if it were ever to drop, saying, "I would have to reproduce the record because it was 10 years ago. And it was impressive, I have to say, to see him create. It was really, really good."
Personally, I would love to hear a new record between the two parties and from the sounds of it, it definitely has an intriguing vibe. Watch the full interview below.
