In a few days, we'll be able to hear Skins, an album that XXXTentacion was working on before he passed away. The tracklist was unveiled this week, singling out Kanye West as the sole feature credited. It's unclear whether anybody else will be on the album but for now, Kanye is the only name credited. Of course, anticipation skyrocketed when the Chicago legend's name was posted on the card, leaving fans even more antsy to check out the project come Friday. Unfortunately, much like 6ix9ine's DUMMY BOY, Skins has reportedly leaked on the internet and fans are talking about Kanye's verse.
Complex writes that Ye starts off the song, rapping, "So much hate at the top, it's a lonely place." He goes on to make several references to death in his section, even asking X to "hold the gate" when he's on his way to heaven. Kanye has been one of the most outspoken artists to defend Jah since his passing, noting that he wished he would have spoken up beforehand. Before XXX heads into a screaming verse, Kanye continues to support the late artist, saying, "Now your name is tainted, by the claims they paintin'/The defendant is guilty, no one blames the plaintiff."
It was announced yesterday that in correlation with the album release party for Skins, Kanye West has designed a three-piece merchandise collection in XXXTentacion's honor. For information on how to live stream the event, check here.
