A scripted drama for the Wu-Tang Clan has been ordered at Hulu.

The Wu-Tang Clan are often referred to as one of the greatest hip-hop group's in the genre's history. Not only did they shift music with their debut album, but the swag they brought to the game enriched the culture even further. Now, Hulu has ordered a scripted drama based on the story of the Wu-Tang Clan co-created by RZA and Superfly's Alex Tse.

Hulu has issued a straight-to-series 10-episode order for Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga. The TV show is based on Wu-Tang's formation in the early 90's at the peak of the crack era. Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga will follow RZA's vision of forming the group of a dozen black men who are trying to prosper in music while still being active in the streets. The show will be executive produced by RZA, Method Man, Tse as well as Francie Calfo and Imagine Television's Brian Fazer. The show's inspired by two of RZA's books, The Wu-Tang Manual and Tao Of Wu.

"I'm delighted to be partnering with Hulu and Imagine to explore the vast story of the Wuniverse. Wu-Tang, through our music, has always strove to inspire as we entertain. This opportunity to continue the Wu saga in a 10-episode series will exponentially increase our inspirational style of entertainment. In the immortal words of ODB, 'Wu-Tang is for the Children,'" said RZA.

Method Man added, "Imagine: Hulu and Wu-Tang — I'm thrilled with this collaboration. This is a major win for hip-hop."

While Meth and RZA serve as executive producers for the show, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, GZA and ODB's estate will serve as consulting producers.
