This year's award show just couldn't pull up its numbers.

This year's American Music Awards drew in quite the crowd and dished out all kinds of prestigious awards for some of the hottest artists in the game. Performances were had by Cardi B, Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and lots more. Coming back for the second time, Tracee Ellis Ross played host but with the latter combined the award show still failed to up its viewership.

According to Variety, the AMAs dropped 25% in ratings from the show's key demographics (adults 18-49) and is down 29% in views. This year's rating was 1.8 while the views were at 6.5 million, compared to last year's 2.4 rating and 9.2 million viewers. For the first time in over a decade, the show did not air on a Sunday in November but the time change surely isn't the only factor to affect the ratings. The publication notes how other award shows have also seen a big decline like the recent Emmy Awards that dropped 11% from last year.

If you missed any of the show's musical acts, don't worry, we got them all lined up here for your viewing pleasure.
