Millie Bobby Brown is set to be an unlikely hero.

Everyone is following in Marvel's footsteps. The billion-dollar studio created their multi-movie cinematic universe, and now, every other studio wants to do the same. Warner Bros. may be busy building their DC Comics movie universe, but they are also piecing together a multi-movie storyline for their monsters. It started with 2014's Godzilla, and then it continued in 2017's Kong: Skull Island. While fans of the enormous monsters will have to wait another two years for the crossover event Godzilla vs. Kong, the former is headed back into theaters for a sequel before his matchup with the giant ape.

A trailer for Godzilla: King of The Monsters was released at San Diego Comic-Con today, and the footage looks intense. In the trailer, Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown is joined by Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Bates Motel), Kyle Chandler (The Wolf of Wall Street, Zero Dark Thirty), and Ken Watanabe (Inception, Batman Begins). For some reason, mankind is on the brink of extinction, and scientists are hoping monsters like Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah will save the planet. Exactly how that is possible is anyone's guess. The world will get an answer when Godzilla: King of The Monsters hits theaters on May 31, 2019.
