Real life best friends Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez are starring in the upcoming flick Second Act that follows an ambitious 40-year-old who gets frustrated with her job at a big-box store and makes her dreams come true by landing a job at Madison Avenue. Leah paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about the movie and what it's like working with her BFF.
"Sometimes working with friends is not always easy. And sometimes when you have chemistry, like with your significant other, it doesn't mean you will have chemistry onscreen," Leah told Ellen. "So I was really, really happy when we did our first day of shooting and it was just very easy, it felt like Leah and Jennifer."
Leah explained how she told directors that she would just do some improv with Jennifer on set, sort of how she does in real life. In one particular scene Leah's character was giving Jennifer's character a pep talk that ended with Jennifer hitting her pretty hard in the face.
"And then I started to slap her, and she cracked me right across the face at the end, and you'll see as she's walking away, I start to smile," Leah explained, as seen in the clip below. "I started to smile right there because I fell to the ground in laughter and ruined the tape because she cracked me so hard."
