Halsey has always been one to speak her mind, taking to social media to express whatever sentiments have been lingering in her psyche. The "Bad at Love" singer has gone on record to share some frustrations about hotels, and how their amenities exclude black folk. The songstress recently tweeted out how "I've been travelling for years now and it's been so frustrating that the hotel toiletry industry entirely alienates people of colour. I can't use this perfumed watered down white people shampoo. Neither can 50% of ur customers. Annoying."
She then goes on to note her "point is that mass production of those products as the standard is part of a greater problem of disenfranchisement. If white ppl can enjoy the luxury/convenience, there should be an option for everyone to. Its an “insignificant” example of a bigger problem. That’s all!"
In response, Twitter users have been criticizing Halsey's observations and how they created an unwarranted racial binary, as well as emphasizing a less salient social issue.
