Every week before streaming numbers have been officially tallied, industry sources reveal approximately where each album will land on the charts based on its pure sales and streams. With last week being loaded with new music, the charts are bound to be crowded with debuts. From The Carters to Jay Rock and Nas, hip-hop was well-represented last week. However, the significant boost in streams and digital sales for XXXTentacion's music may affect the rankings this week. With many new projects, it's time to find out who performed the best, although, from name and star power alone, it's probably pretty obvious.
Despite being a TIDAL exclusive for a few days, Jay-Z and Beyoncé's collaborative album is on pace to become this week's top debut. Moving up to 125K equivalent album units via streaming and about 77K pure sales, The Carters are the most obvious performer of the week, but Nas was not too far behind. Moving up to 80K streaming units with around 50K pure album sales, Nas' Nasir will net him one of the more commercially successful projects of the week. Jay Rock is expected to move up to 27K equivalent album units through his latest effort, Redemption.
It should come as no surprise that two of the most powerful people in the world will share the highest-charting debut of the week. Check out the full list of projections here.
