Two of hip-hop's dry wit kings have joined forces. Donald Glover, who has since become a golden boy for his trailblazing talents and Hollywood takeover, has once again taken up the Childish Gambino mantle for one final hurrah. With rumors of an upcoming album swirling, Gambino took to Instagram to announce a new string of tour dates, which are set to kick off in September. If that wasn't enough to pique your interest, Glover has enlisted the man-of-the-people himself, Vince Staples, to co-headline. This marks the second major co-headlining tour Vince has enjoyed this year, after embarking on an extensive one with Tyler, The Creator.
As you can see, the tour itself kicks off in October, following Glover's joint dates with Rae Sremmurd. It appears that Gambino and Vince will be blessing Phoenix on October 5th, and continuing together for a brief, but no doubt memorable block of dates until October 12th. The increase in live activity indicates that Glover most definitely has an album coming soon. As for Vince, perhaps he's simply trying to surround himself with people to protect him from R. Kelly's goons. Either way, keep an eye out for this one. It should be a thought provoking experience.
Pre-sale starts May 1st, 10 AM "local time." Check out the Vince dates via Glover's IG below.
