Hot 97's Ebro Darden Named Apple Music's Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B

Ebro just got a big promotion at Apple.

Ebro Darden who is best known for hosting "Ebro In The Morning" on Hot 97, as well as having his own show on Beats 1, has been appointed as the Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B at Apple Music. The news comes thanks to a press release courtesy of Apple Music.

"As Apple Music's new Global Head of Hip-Hop and R&B, Ebro will manage a team of Hip-Hop and R&B editors as they build out editorial plans for artists, albums and song releases," Apple Music said in the press release. "With his own team and cross-functional teams Ebro will be plugged into the various music communities and seek out talent in the United States and around the world. He will also have a leadership role within the company to find ways to connect with urban music communities and beyond."

Ebro first joined Apple Music as a host of their Beats 1 global livestream which also featured the likes of Zane Lowe and Julie Adenuga. Apple Music confirmed that despite his new role, Ebro will continue to host his Beats 1 show which airs Monday to Thursday from 3-5 P.M. EST. He will also continue to host his show over at Hot 97.

Darden has been with Apple Music since 2015 and has interviewed the likes of SZA, Migos, Meek Mill, Cardi B, and Chance the Rapper.
