Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant was fined $25,000 last month for telling a heckler in Dallas to "Watch the fucking game and shut the fuck up." Despite the fine, Durant isn't done interacting with fans - though his most recent convo with a court side ticket-holder was much more cordial.
During the Warriors' 128-111 victory against the Hawks in Atlanta on Monday night, KD turned to a group of chatty fans and delivered a similar message, making light of his stern comments in Dallas.
Durant was in the middle of a podcast with Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes a few weeks back when he learned of his $25,000 punishment for the incident in Dallas. He offered an unfiltered take about hecklers in general, describing them as "corny" and "weak."
"I knew I was gonna get fined," Durant said when Haynes informed him of the fine. "But how much they fine me?"
"[$25,000] for telling a fan to shut the fuck up and watch the fucking game," Durant added. "More fans should understand what that means. Grown men can't come to games and heckle grown men. That's corny, that's weak."
"You come into a game to heckle a grown man, 'you soft,' 'you weak,' Draymond this, Draymond that, 'you're a bitch,' [and] you're going to sleep as a grown man doing that to another person?"
