Brian Tyree Henry is having a standout year. Henry was just nominated for an Emmy for his role as Paper Boi in Donald Glover's ambitious series Atlanta. He's also set to star as the father of Spider-Man in Sony's Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse later this year. That's still just the tip of the iceberg for Henry. He will also star in the reboot of Chuckie's horror film Child's Play, feature in the female-driven thriller Widows (which looks incredible), and play a role in the drug-drama White Boy Rick. Henry continues to add to his impressive resume, and according to Variety, he was just cast to star in Godzilla VS. Kong.
The monster mashup will be the fourth movie in Legendary Picture's Monsterverse, which is their answer to Marvel's MCU. The interconnected movie universe began with 2014’s Godzilla, and was then followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown will star in next year's Godzilla: King of the Monsters before she transitions to star alongside Henry in Godzilla VS. Kong.
Although Henry's role has yet to be confirmed, it has been ascertained that he will play a leading role. Godzilla VS. Kong is slated to hit theaters on May 22, 2020.
