At last year's E3, Microsoft announced that they would be revamping their avatar system for the Xbox One systems. E3 is the biggest video game expo in the world, so it was the perfect place for the company to make the announcement. Unfortunately, the new avatar system never arrived. Xbox fans were confused by the constant delays and teased by leaks, but now, Microsoft is finally set to bring their new avatar system to life.
The new Xbox Live Avatars will be available to Xbox Insiders members today, although a larger release still has no definite date. The new avatar system goes in depth, and allows gamers to edit almost everything about their appearance. Full customizations that edit body types, clothing, accessories, props, and cosmetics allow gamers to add a unique touch to their avatar. "The new Xbox Avatars are built from the ground up in to enable an unprecedented amount of inclusive customization options, and we will continue to grow these selections over time," explains Bradley Rossetti, Microsoft’s Xbox Insider Team Lead. "Thanks to the powerful new Avatar Editor app, virtually every aspect of your avatar can be personalized on-the-fly. Each feature, including skin tone, hair, wearables, and props, can support over 16 million color options."
The new Xbox Avatar Editor is available today for Xbox Insiders on the Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead content tabs.
