Game 7 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Indiana Pacers produced the desired effect of putting Lepron up against his old foe Lance Stephenson. The Brooklyn baller cemented his fame during the heyday of the Paul George-led Indiana Pacer teams that challenged for supremacy in the East. As we all know, their dynastic run was fruitless. Stephenson fell out of favor and almost got run out of the league. His return to the organization brought him to the brink of redemption. Unfortunately for him, Lebron had other plans in mind.
At the end of the 3rd quarter, Lebron had done just about everything in his power to influence the outcome of the match. His 38 points were more than half of his team's entire output at that point of the game. During the 3rd, Victor Oladipo in particular, helped the Pacers erase a 14-point deficit by going on a 20-5 scoring run. The timing was ripe for a reset.
In the final quarter, it was George Hill who played a significant role in emboldening the spirit of his team. Pacers watched in horror as their team's former point guard helped dismantle them. Several of his creative looks opened the game for the increasingly stagnant Cavaliers offence. The Cavaliers were then able to ride a safe 9-point lead in the closing minutes. The Pacers-Cavaliers has many new faces on each side. That won't stop each team's fan base from enlivening their every contest.
The Cavaliers continue the defence of their Eastern Conference crown against the top-seeded Raptors on Tuesday. Stay tuned.
