Thanksgiving is that time of year when families and friends gather round and try not to kill each other after filling themselves to the brim with food and drinks. Although every year, family members promise to be cordial, there is always some type of Thanksgiving clap back. Whether it be relationships, money, or politics, somebody has to push that button that escalates the holiday past enjoyable.
Tiffany Haddish and Ike Barinholtz are set to star in The Oath, a movie that plays on the Thanksgiving day strife. In a new trailer for The Oath, it appears that the government is set to pass a new law of patriotism that forces the public to swear their undying allegiance to the president. "This is not the America that I know," states Barinholtz. The trailer also reveals that he is a Liberal. While at Thanksgiving dinner, Barinholtz promises not to bring up politics, but he's soon seen calling his dinner guest Nazis. He's hit with the "liberals call everyone a Nazi when they're triggered," argument, and things go downhill from there. According to Variety, the plot will focus on two federal agents, who are being held captive in the arguing family's living room. The Oath is set to hit theaters on October 12.
